An Evening of Middle Eastern Storytelling

Few images of storytelling are a powerful as Scheherazade and her 1001 tales. The stories from the Middle East — Arabic, Persian, Turkish, and Armenian — invite us to ride the magic carpet of our imaginations and visit worlds of pure enchantment and profound wisdom.  I have been telling these tales for over forty years, and would be happy to share an evenng of storytelling with your community.

The Stories:

Just 4 minutes to hear snippets from all 4 stories

The Bedouin Princess (Arabia)

Fatimah the Spinner (Morocco)

Armenian landscape

— intermission --

The Fool Who Counted Sins (Turkey)

Queen Miriam and her Brother Lamb (Armenia)

Each tale is about 20 minutes.  The entire evening is between 90 and 120 minutes with a 15 minute intermission.  I perform for groups of all sizes, and all backgrounds.  If there is time, I am happy to discuss the stories after the tellings.
